News from the last weeks:
Pink Floyd news about the new album release "The Endless River":
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/
And yes Graham Nash, David Crosby and Durga McBroom are already confirmed as collaboraters on the album... just like Philly Manzanera ....
New Pink Floyd Album 'The Endless River' Out in October.
Pink Floyd may be releasing a new record this fall, according to guitarist David Gilmour's wife Polly Samson, who tweeted (and possibly leaked?) the news earlier this morning.
"Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called 'The Endless River'" Polly Samson tweeted. "Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful."
Consequence of Sound reports that touring vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson, who sang backup with the band throughout the 1980s and 1990s, provided further proof on her Facebook page later in the day, posting a photo from a recording session, confirming that the record will consist of "all unreleased material," and adding:
"The recording did start during 'The Division Bell' sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled "The Big Spliff" that [Floyd drummer] Nick Mason spoke about). Which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it. But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then. It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks. David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them. That's the song you see being worked on in the photo."
The band's longtime engineer Andy Jackson also confirmed the album's release via fan site Floydian Slip; while the band's current label home, Warner, has yet to confirm the release, Gilmour's manager hinted to the site that a proper announcement would come this monday (July 7). Billboard has reached out to the label and will update as the story progresses.
If the reports are true, "The Endless River" would come just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band's final album, 1994's "The Division Bell"; the "new" material would have been recorded around the same time. Gilmour currently has a solo album in the works; no word on whether Roger Waters will have been included, but his last appearance on a Floyd record was in 1983 with "The Final Cut," and he reportedly has a new solo album in the works.
Keyboardist Rick Wright -- whose membership in Pink Floyd fluctuated over the years, thanks to a brief exit in 1979 stemming from clashes with Waters while recording "The Wall," a stint as a live session musician while the band toured that album, and an official reentry into the band by the time "Division Bell" was released -- died at 65 of cancer in 2008.??
It may only end up being a one off, but the BBC seems to have persuaded Genesis members to perform together for the first time since Peter Gabriel parted ways with Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Steve Hackett. The reunion concert will be the highlight of a documentary that will delve into the history of the Prog Rock masters that a Peter Gabriel web site post says managed to '...perplex and enrage the die-hards' by heading in an increasingly pop direction during its last incarnation. No broadcast timetable has yet been announced, nor have details about where and when the live performance will be staged. Royal Albert Hall would be quite a setting, but O2 Arena is probably more likely, assuming it's going to be in front of a live audience.
Mostly Autumn made an outstanding 11th studio album; Dressed in Voices!
Exciting news from down under!
Although, well known Australian Progressive Rock group Unitopia have decided to call it a day, the musical spirit still lives on in the newly
formed United Progressive Fraternity. A phoenix from the ashes, UPF are a tour de force with ex-Unitopia members Matt Williams on guitar,
David Hopgood on drums, Tim Irrgang on percussion and the ever magical voice of Mark ‘Truey’ Trueack, whose vision this juggernaut
is. Added to this, Mark has managed to corral some progressive rock heavyweights in the form of keyboard player, guitarist, vocalist and song-writer,
friend Guy Manning (Manning, The Tangent), bass guitarist, Daniel Mash - bass, vocals (The Tangent)
Marek Arnold - sax, clarinet, keyboards .
On 31 March, UPF will be formally announcing their existence with the video release of ‘The Water’, from the debut album ‘Fall in Love with the World’ (due for release in October 2014) and which includes a collaboration with ex- Yes front man Jon Anderson and input from former Genesis guitarist, Steve Hackett. Steve Unruh will also appear as a special guest on the album, playing the violin and flute.

Steve Hackett has launched a clip from his upcoming live DVD in which he performs Genesis classic Carpet Crawlers with Ray Wilson.
Hackett was joined at London's Royal Albert Hall for a unique Genesis Revisited show by guests Roine Stolt, John Wetton and Amanda Lehmann, and his band Roger King, Gary O'Toole, Rob Townsend, Lee Pomeroy and Nad Sylvan.
The guitarist said: "It was a thrilling musical experience for all concerned with a fantastic light and visual show. Paul Green and his team filmed it brilliantly too. It's a feast for eyes, ears and all the senses."
Genesis Revisited: Live At The Royal Albert Hall will be released via Inside Out on June 30.

Pendragon to release new album ‘Men Who Climb Mountains’ in october 2014.

YES SET TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM IN JULY ON FRONTIERS RECORDS “HEAVEN & EARTH”.
“Among the world’s most influential, ground-breaking, and respected progressive rock bands, Grammy Award winning, YES are proud to announce they will release their new studio album, HEAVEN & EARTH, on July 18th on Frontiers Records. Having sold nearly 40 million albums in a career that has so far spanned more than four decades, HEAVEN & EARTH sees YES continuing with its tradition of symphonic progressive rock that remains timelessly fresh and innovative.
While he continues his six-year (and counting) journey to complete the upcoming sequel to his 1976 debut album, former Yes vocalist Jon Anderson
is already on to his next project: A new band with violinist Jean-Luc Ponty.

Message from Steven Wilson
A reminder that a short Blackfield tour of Europe starts a week from today, with concerts in 6 cities in 7 days. Unfortunately, due
to increasing activities with my solo work and other new projects, these will also be my final shows with Blackfield, and for this reason
the set list will draw mainly from the first 2 albums, which were the ones that myself and Aviv Geffen collaborated on most closely (my role
on the recent fourth album was as a guest only). Aviv will continue recording and touring as Blackfield with new collaborators, but for me
this is going to be a thank you and “farewell”, so I would love to see you there!.

Hogarth/Barbieri Tour Cancelled!
After having delivered a fantastic album last year (Not the Weapon but the Hand), and having announced a mini tour of Europe earlier this year, economic concerns and artistic aspirations clashed.
From a post by h and Richard Barbieri, posted today on Facebook:
It is with extreme regret and no little reluctance that Richard and I must announce the cancellation of our forthcoming August and September shows. We have worked hard and planned carefully to make this tour a memorable musical event. We assembled a brilliant creative unit of talented musicians and performers and were careful to communicate to our respective fan-bases the intention to play a spectrum of music from across our careers. Unfortunately, the process has seen expenses spiralling beyond our initial estimates and tough economic times have led to a slow take-up of ticket sales so far. Financially the tour just won't work. We can't compromise the quality of the band or the performance and, in this instance, we're not backed by a large corporation and all expenses and losses will have to be incurred personally. This has left us with little alternative but to pull the plug on the project.
Support from the public has been enthusiastic, and we're grateful to those of you who have rushed out early and bought tickets. We will do all we can to ensure existing ticket-holders are refunded. We do appreciate that there may be people who have incurred travel and hotel expenses in connection with our tour and, especially during these tough times, we are truly sorry if you are out of pocket over this.
We hope to revisit this project in the future as and when our respective Marillion and Porcupine Tree schedules allow as we were very excited about the show we had been planning.
