Steve is a singer songwriter from the South of England and is busy for quite a while. He plays all sorts of musical styles folk (Bob Dylan came up in my mind), guitar based rock and progressive symfo, all well crafted music and a sometimes provoking.
Emotional Creatures Live is his first ceedee, 7 tracks are recorded live ('00).
The other 3 tracks are recorded in a studio with help from his friends of
Jadis and Nick D'Vigilio
(ex-Genesis, Spock's Beard,
Tears for Fears)
has laid down the drums on three of the tracks!
Must admit that these three studio takes are my
favorite.
The songs are catchy proggy singer songwriter stories, real fine lyrics.
For a first cd cd not bad at all, but the songs have more potention. Think this will be his
"try out".
No he has finished working on Emotional Creatures Part One with, sit down and be amazed:
Geoff Downes - keyboard (Asia and and...)
Nick D'Vigilio - drums (Spocks Beard, Genesis, Tears for Fears, and ...)
Gary Chandler - guitar ( Jadis)
Steve Christey - drums ( Jadis)
Martin Orford - keyboards ( IQ & Jadis)
John Jowitt - bass ( IQ,
Jadis,
Arena)
Paul Cook - drums ( IQ)
Rob Audrey- bass and production
Arnie Cottrell - mandolin
Liz Allen - backing vocals
And Steve will hit the road again with Jadis, see for live dates the official Jadis page (see my link page, or look at www.moodbully.com ).
And what do you think of that cover? Isn't that a beauty? It's made by Danny Flynn. Check out www.dannyflynn.com for more awesome paintings. A nice flashy site!

Steve's news letter: Emo 2 Update
« Thread Started on Yesterday at 11:33 »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi folks
Just a few lines to you all to keep you informed...
Emo 2 is really coming together now. Tony Levin has completed stick and bass on two tracks
All The Wisemen (stick) and Crossfire (five string bass). He is working on two others
as I write. They are Toxicana Apocalypso, which is the opening instrumental and Wayward,
which is track 2 on the album.
The drums on Wayward are by Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree. Nick D'Virgilio has
played on 8 tracks and his performances have exceeded my wildest expectations once again.
John Mitchell (Kino/The Urbane) has played electric guitar on All The Wisemen,
Sandheads and Crossfire. He arrived very early one morning, so early in fact,
that he dragged Rob Aubrey (co-producer on Emo 1 and 2) out of his smelly pit! I
arrived shortly afterwards and we had a great day together. John was magnificent
and got into the buzz of these songs immediately.
Dave Meros (Spock's Beard) is working on basslines for Hounded and 6am (Your Time).
I'm excited to work with him for the first time.
Gary Chandler (Jadis) has provided some meaty power chords on Toxicana Apocalypso
and Hounded.
The orchestral pieces for the end track Sandheads and penultimate track The White Dove
Song are being scored and they're coming along nicely.
It's going to be one hell of a guest list and I'll make it as though it's the last thing I'm ever going to do!
Thanks so much for all your support. Thanks to all you ladies and gents Emo 1 has received critical acclaim in seven or eight countries and sold thousands of copies, which has allowed me to really go to town on Part Two.
I've discovered a wonderful percussionist by the name of Chris Beggs. He plays
various weird and wonderful things on many of the songs. Arnie Cottrell
(mandolin) has played on two tracks, Great Ordeal and Sandheads and Liz
Allen has provided vocal harmonies on Great Ordeal, which is my favourite at
the moment.
There's still going to be a couple more guest surprises, although I don't want to say
anything until it's in the bag.
I'm looking forward to lots of live work this year and somewhere near the
end of it, I plan to do a full band Emo 1 and 2 concert or two, so keep 'em peeled...
Thanks again and have a great year all of you!

Emotional Creatures Part Two is out now (March 2007).
News May 2009:
STEVE THORNE: to release new solo album "Into The Ether" ....
Children with needles and tourniquets tied
Suburbia sprawls like a cat
Man-made euphorias melt your insides
Superbugs chew on the fat
So here's to your gift of industrial hell
Here's to the progress you've made
The feeders are feeding the cows to the cows
Seems like the planet's been laid
CHORUS
All the wisemen say
The universe is oval like an egg
Life's the dream of souls
vibration, light and density
And all the wisemen pray
Bumper to bumper from city to town
Oh, for the freedom of cars
Caught in a cycle that's spiralling down
Pinning our hope in the stars
Thank you for tearing that hole in my sky
And putting that twat on the moon
Praise be for 36 channels of shite
Lounge lizards dance to the tune
CHORUS REPEAT
MIDDLE 8
See the albatross fly
Over seas far and wide
Poetry in flight
We're all one and the same
Jesus I must be insane
To believe in everything
Yes I believe in everything...
Yes I believe in everything...
CHORUS REPEAT
